Laura Leighton’s character Sydney Andrews is back from the dead to star in the CW’s new version of Melrose Place.
“It was a near-fatal accident. You never actually saw her dead,” says a source familiar with the show, referring to what looked like Sydney’s demise in the original Melrose Place.
At the end of Season 5 of Melrose, a car struck Sydney on her wedding day and left fans believing that she’d died. But appearances can be deceiving: Leighton is back as Sydney who will be the landlord on the network’s updated series.
The cast is complete, says a source, and they’ll start shooting the pilot next week.
