Amanda Woodward is back. And her claws are sharper than ever.

Starting tonight, Heather Locklear reprises her role as the iconic bad girl on CW’s remake of Melrose Place (9 ET/PT). And as a PR firm partner, she’s ready to school junior publicist Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy) on the rules of the road.

Though both actresses say they’re not real-life vixens (they prefer slippers to stilettos), give them a short skirt and throw in a couple of ice-cold lines, and the pair embodies the femme fatale. Here Locklear and Cassidy reveal their rules of workplace etiquette, vixen-style.

Melrose Cast In Entertainment Weekly

Posted on Sep 11, 2009 • Filed under: Articles,Gallery,Media Alert,Melrose Place — Webmaster @ 2:01 pm

Melrose Place made its long-awaited comeback this week, and it proved to be just as steamy as the original. Not that much of the cast remembers the original.

“For the most part, this cast has no connection to the other one,” Laura Leighton, who’s reprising her role as the scandalous Sydney Andrews, admits in the fall TV preview issue of Entertainment Weekly. “They never miss any opportunity to tell me that they weren’t even old enough to watch the original show. Katie [Cassidy, sitting above] turned to me the other day and said, ‘So were you, like, on the old one?’ I have to keep my sense of humor intact because it’s been a series of humiliations, really.”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who turns 25 in October, admits she was too young to catch it the first time around, too. “I never really watched shows like this until I was pregnant,” says the singer-actress. “But they’re so much fun — they’re part of American culture.”

People who grow up in Los Angeles don’t become farmers. It seems like Angelenos gravitate toward a career in the entertainment industry. After all, they’re surrounded by the glitz and glamour, and it’s attainable. But imagine growing up in Los Angeles with parents in the biz, and thinking about what the future holds. Think that they’ll be tilling fields in a few years?

There was never any doubt that Katie Cassidy would go into showbiz — she was destined for stardom. That’s an overused phrase, but she’s the child of David Cassidy, the famous singer/actor known best for his role on The Partridge Family, and Sherry Williams, the actress/model, and it was just a matter of time before fate caught up to her. “I knew I loved acting, and I was in theater when I was in elementary school, but I didn’t actually think that it was a reality,”
Cassidy recalls. “That it could be my career and I could actually make money doing this and support myself and a family and whatnot. And it actually ended up becoming my reality. I have the coolest job on the planet.”
